About Majura Park Gun Club

Majura Park Gun Club is a clay target club off Hector McIntosh Grove at Majura, about 10 minutes from Canberra's CBD. Once on Hector McIntosh Grove, it's the third gate on the right.

The club shoots down-the-line (DTL), ball trap, universal trench, Olympic trap, American skeet, occasional Olympic skeet, sporting clays and 5 Stand. A covered Olympic trap layout lets beginners shoot in the rain, and LED lighting allows DTL and 5 Stand at night. An all-weather ISSF, ball trap and universal trench range is nearing completion.

Shoot days

• DTL: first Sunday of the month (not January)
• Olympic trap: third Sunday (not in winter)
• 100-target sporting clays: fourth Sunday
• Universal trench: second Wednesday night
• 5 Stand: every fourth Wednesday night under lights

Sunday events start between 9:30 and 10am; Wednesday events about 5:30pm. Skeet practice runs Wednesdays 1–3pm, with DTL and 5 Stand practice from late afternoon under lights.

Joining

The club is in the SSAA ACT complex, so all members must also join SSAA. Beginner packages run on Wednesday nights, and corporate and bucks and hens groups are catered for; no licence or experience is needed. Details are on the club's website.
