About Sporting Shooters Pistol Club (ACT)

Sporting Shooters Pistol Club ACT (SSPC ACT) shoots at the SSAA ACT Majura Shooting Complex on Hector McIntosh Grove, Majura, in Canberra. The club was set up almost 50 years ago with ISSF events and has since expanded into a wide range of pistol disciplines. Members have been selected for the Olympic and Commonwealth Games, and the club hosts state, national and international competitions.

Its facilities include the Joe Fadini ISSF Ranges D and E, an air pistol shed, barricade/practical and falling-plate ranges, a 35m range, a 50m range and a 200m Metallic Silhouette and Field Pistol range.

ISSF Pistol, 10m Air Pistol, Action Pistol, IPSC/Practical, Service Pistol, 25yd Service, WA1500, Field Pistol, Metallic Silhouette, Black Powder and SSAA Single Action.

Shoot days

Club matches run most Saturdays and Sundays from about 8 to 9am, on Tuesday evenings (IPSC, 7pm) and on Wednesdays (Seniors ISSF 7am, 50m Service/WA 9am, IPSC 11:30am). Action practice is on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings, and IPSC practice on Saturdays from 2pm.

Joining

SSPC ACT is a separately incorporated club linked to SSAA, and current SSAA membership is required to join. Prospective members start with an Orientation Tour on the second Saturday of each month at 12:30pm at the club house (not held in December or January).
