About SSAA Alice Springs

SSAA Alice Springs (the Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia Alice Springs Branch) shoots at the Alice Springs Shooting Complex at the end of Butler Road. Ranges include a 500m range, a 200m metallic silhouette range, two 50m ranges for Western Action and IPSC, two 25m pistol ranges, a DTL clay target range and a sporting clays range.

The Complex owns the land and the clubhouse, which SSAA members can use. It holds 250 people, has a licensed bar and views of the MacDonnell Ranges, and is available for function hire.

Shoot days

• IPSC: 1st and 3rd Sundays, plus some Thursdays
• Single (Western) Action: 1st and 3rd Saturdays
• Lever Action Silhouette and Pistol Silhouette (IHMSA): 2nd Sunday
• NRA Target Pistol: Wednesday evenings, 6pm
• Combined Service rifle and pistol: 4th Sunday
• Blackpowder: about monthly on Saturdays

Other disciplines include rifle metallic silhouette, Field Rifle, scoped 3-Positional, practical rifle, SSAA precision rifle, trap and sporting clays. Some run SSAA National postal competitions and proficiency awards. There is also a Junior Shooting Program and Learn to Shoot sessions on Range 1.

Joining

Membership needs three parts: SSAA National (affiliated to Alice Springs, NT2), the Alice Springs Shooting Complex and the SSAA Alice Springs Branch. New arrivals can try disciplines first.
