About Southern Downs Sporting Clays
Southern Downs Sporting Clays shoots sporting clays over a 12-stand course on Rosenthal Road at Rosenthal Heights, Warwick, just past the Warwick Clay Target Club. It is about two hours' drive from Brisbane. The club belongs to the Queensland Sporting Clays Association and Sporting Clays Australia.
Shoot days
The monthly 100-target sporting competition is on the 4th Sunday, starting at 9:00am. Come and try and practice sporting run on the 4th Saturday from 1:00pm, unless a two-day event is on. The club also runs an annual two-day, 200-target sporting event in October.
Joining
Unlicensed beginners can try the sport with a QLD Police declaration form and photo ID. Bookings are essential, a club gun is available, and shooters must be over 11. The club also runs corporate days for business and social groups. Use the enquiry button on this page to book.
On-site camping is free, with donations going toward upkeep. Queensland Government Active Clubs funding paid for equipment, and Southern Downs Regional Council grants have gone into infrastructure.
