About Penguin Clay Target Club
Penguin Clay Target Club is a sporting clays club on the north-west coast of Tasmania, between Burnie and Devonport. The ground is at Hardys Road and Ironcliffe Road, Penguin. It is a member club of Tasmania Sporting Clays Inc, the Tasmanian association of Sporting Clays Australia.
Shoot days
The club holds a 100-target Sporting shoot each month, mostly on the second Sunday with a 9:30am start. Some months are English Sporting instead. The calendar also includes qualifiers and a club championship, and the club hosted the 2026 Tasmanian Sporting Clays State Championships in September.
The ground
Gravel tracks through the range give all-weather access. Facilities are available for practice and competition, and members can get coaching in firearm handling and range safety. The club describes its membership as family-based and open to all ages.
