About Gympie Pistol Club
Gympie Pistol Club's range is at 15 Belvedere Road, Veteran, about 2.5 km north off Sandy Creek Road towards Old Wolvi Road. The club runs a broad programme: the ISSF events (air, free, rapid fire, sport, standard and centre fire pistol), Service Pistol and Police & Service (PPC), IPSC and practical pistol, multigun, Metallic Silhouette and air pistol silhouette, black powder, Single Action/Wild Bunch, NRA Action and Gallery Rifle.
It calls itself a family club, and its ranges are designated flora and fauna sanctuaries. The range is available for hire for corporate, family, school and group come and try days run by qualified Range Officers.
Shoot days
Service Pistol every Saturday at 9am and every Tuesday night at 6pm; ISSF on the 1st Saturday; Metallic Silhouette on the 3rd Saturday; IPSC on the 1st and 3rd Sundays; a Ladies Shoot on the 2nd Sunday; Single Action/Wild Bunch on the 4th Sunday. Wednesdays alternate Sports Pistol/Centre Fire and Standard Match, Fridays have Air Pistol and Service Match/Gallery Rifle, and Practical Pistol runs on the 1st Friday evening. ISSF and Service practice is on Thursdays. No shots before 9am.
Joining
New Shooter Introduction days run on the first Saturday of each month at 8:30am (arrive 8am). Newcomers then shoot two club competitions before applying for membership. Safety courses are run at the club, generally on the first Sunday of the month. Visitors must book at least seven days ahead and be signed in by a member. Use the enquiry button on this page.
