Canberra International Clay Target Club (CICTC) is the ACT's premier clay target shooting club, located at 6394 Kings Highway, Kowen ACT — approximately 8.5km east of Queanbeyan on the road to Bungendore. The club is affiliated with both the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA) and Field and Game Australia (FGA), making it one of the most versatile clay target clubs in the region.
CICTC offers a comprehensive range of clay target disciplines including Down the Line (DTL), Ball Trap, Double Trap, Skeet, Trench, Five Stand, Olympic Trap and Simulated Field shooting. The monthly programme rotates disciplines across Sundays — Five Stand practice on the 1st Sunday, Simulated Field on the 2nd Sunday, Skeet and New Shooter Lessons on the 3rd Sunday, and DTL Competition on the 4th Sunday. Thursday evening DTL practice and competitions are also held regularly.
Beginner lessons run on the 3rd Sunday of each month (excluding January and December), commencing at 10:00am. Sessions cover shotgun safety, handling and clay target shooting under the supervision of club instructors. Bookings are essential. Thursday "Come and Try" sessions are held on the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:30pm ($65 per person). Corporate and group events are also available for bookings of up to 20 participants.
Club membership requires joining CICTC plus either ACTA (for DTL, Ball Trap, Double Trap, Skeet or Trench) or FGA (for Simulated Field), or both. Annual fees: Adult $80, Veteran (65+) $40, Junior (under 18) $40. Contact the club secretary at secretary@cictc.org.au for enquiries.
